Wah.. today have to spend $$$ to change my car tyres.. actually, since end of last year till this year, I have so much problem with my car tyre already…..and my post today will be all on my car tyres adventures..
A few months ago, I think it’s maybe around October, when my mom saw this tyre ( I call it tyre A) behind the driver seat was kind of flat.. but still can move, so before I went to work, I stopped at a petrol station to pump air but realized that the air cannot go in through the valve. I thought the pump air instrument at that particular station is spoilt so I went to another station to pump but still the same problem. I got kind of scared and did not continue my journey to work because I have to travel 30km daily and what happened if my car cannot move at the middle of the highway.. so I turned back to my house and took emergency leave to go to workshop.
At the workshop, the mechanic checked and he can pump the air in. so I thought maybe there’s really some problem with my method of pumping air. He did check the tyre for holes but there was none. So in the end, I have to pay RM3 just for checking my tyre.
After a few weeks, I tried to pump air and again, there’s problem to pump air. So I went to another mechanic. This one is an uncle and he looks fierce. When I told him my problem, he asked me to pump air there and then for him to see.. he thought that I do not know the way to pump and at that time, again, the tyre is ok.. so nothing was changed.
3 weeks ago, when I just do normal routine check up and wanted to pump air, again the air could not go in.. so, this time, I went to a workshop near my workplace and told the mechanic the problem. he changed something in the valve and checked my tyre for any leakage and there was no problem. and the mechanic was so nice not to charge me anything.
But last Sunday, when I checked my tyre pressure, I was surprised to see that my air pressure already dropped to 130 when the normal one is 200. And in just 3 days, the pressure dropped to 170 from 200. so, I went to the same mechanic that did not charge me anything the other day. After checking, seems that my tyre has a thin hole which cannot be filled.. have to change, so I have to change 2 tyres with RM130 each… waahhhh!!
Btw, here’s another side story.. also a few weeks ago, I realized my car has a ‘tud tud’ sound and the sound seems to rhyme with the turning of the tyre. When I checked, one of the tyre (tyre b) at the front passenger seat has a nail in it.. so, brought to a mechanic which is different from all the one I mentioned above and she’s a female ( really salute her knowledge and skills in tyres). She just ‘tampal’ for me as it still can be used but she does not guarantee how long it can last..
So, when the 2 tyres have to be changed today, besides, the tyre A, luckily the other one which the mechanic said have to be changed is tyre B… so, in the end, the 2 bad tyres were changed today..
